Background
As a university located in South Borneo region, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has academic and moral responsibilities to conserve Borneo’s “lungs of the world”. This responsibility also goes to the Faculty of Engineering ULM and the Graduate School of Civil Engineering. This becomes the main commitment of ULM and all of its academic community (Faculty and department) to provide services for caring, protecting, and developing “green development” to maintain Borneo as “lungs of the world”.
The condition of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid -19) pandemic having any implications to many aspects of life, including the sustainability of development in a developing area is important for many parties to consider, ranging from academics, researchers to stakeholders who are concerned about the situation. There are many notes that can be reflected during this pandemic. It starts from the construction projects may not be optimal because there should not be a crowd and the rregulation that require people to stay at home to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
Furthermore, the problems of “Greener Construction” itself still need more attention in Indonesia Development especially in Borneo Island, in terms of technology, green material, construction method, etc. In line with that, the Environmental issues also need to be considered. As the island of the “lungs of the world” it is important that development in Borneo is in harmony with the nature. For this reason, to live with the nature and all its ecosystems to the right path, it is important to have a constructive dialogue to establish sustainable development with green technology in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Objectives and Benefits
This symposium aims to produce documents on points of view and ideas generated bycross-disciplinary speakers who have high concern on the Civil Engineering and Environmental Research, in terms of sustainable development in general and specifically in green construction. This activity is expected to encourage the passion for researching the green technology for sustainable development. As a result, this is moving towards sustainable development publications published in national and international journals. It becomes suggestions for policy-makers in the context of sustainable development, which are always close to people’s lives and their environments.
